foxconn Foxconns Extreme Overclocking Setup at CeBIT 2008

This is an awesome experience I want to be a part of, Like CeBit 2008 that was held in Hannover, Germany last week. And this lucky guy posted this awesome experience he had in the Exhibit. I’m trying to get more info about this, but unfortunately I don’t get any info more than this from engadget.com

We’ve seen some overclockers go to pretty great lengths to keep those chips cool while they crank up the GHz, but Foxconn’s demonstration at the company’s CeBIT booth is really a sight to behold. They appear to be using copious amounts of liquid nitrogen, along with other black magicks, to boost a Core 2 Extreme processor almost past the 6GHz mark. We’re a little short on specifics, but this setup was certainly hot, and by hot we mean cold.

How to Make Your Loud PC Quite Again

I try to make a series of How to make your loud PC to whisper quite, So start with the cooling method since most of the noise in the PC is come from the fan. Pretty sure you already have the idea of buying a new motherboard, a new CPU, a new case, and other gear stuff to obtain peace and quiet—you simply wanted to hush down the machine you currently own.

So this month, I’ve compiled an easy-to-use guide to reducing the noise levels of your rig’s various components. We’ll take a close look at each of your computer’s subsystems and identify its most common problems, then offer suggestions for reducing—if not eliminating—the noise. We’ll recommend bolt-on fixes and tweaks wherever possible, but in some cases, a hardware upgrade will be your best option.

1. CPU COOLING
The CPU is usually the hottest component in today’s PCs; as such, it typically requires the most extravagant—and often the noisiest—cooling apparatus. Reducing the amount of noise emanating from your CPU’s cooling system is a huge step toward muting your machine, so let’s examine this hotspot first.

As recommended of most Rig’s Modder, Cooler Master’s Hyper 6+ and Gigabyte’s G-Power—are exceptionally quiet while providing frigid temps. If you’re using a stock cooler or an aftermarket unit that sounds like a Hoover, upgrading to one of these silent wonders will bring joy to your ears. Both cost less than $50, so they’re an upgrade anyone can afford.

Water cooling is another way to reduce both CPU temps and overall noise levels. It takes care of the heat around your CPU, making a rear exhaust fan—a major source of noise—unnecessary in most cases. Unless you’re a serious overclocker, however, water cooling probably isn’t worth the time, money, and effort. You can usually achieve quietude with a massive heatsink/fan contraption.

Apple Safari Not Safe for Paypal User.

This is a very alarming news released by PayPal a day ago. Paypal says, If you’re looking for a safe browser for Internet commerce, stay away from Apple’s Safari.

In an interview with Michael Barrett, PayPal’s chief information security officer, the focus was on two specific features: phishing filters and EV-SSL support. Both Firefox and IE7 have phishing filters built in and turned on by default. IE7 has support built in for Extended Validation (EV-SSL), which shows a green address bar for authenticated sites; Firefox and Opera will in upcoming versions.

Safari has no phishing filter and Apple does not participate in the CA/Browser Forum, the group that developed EV-SSL.

“Apple, unfortunately, is lagging behind what they need to do, to protect their customers,” Barrett said. “Our recommendation at this point, to our customers, is use Internet Explorer 7 or 8 when it comes out, or Firefox 2 or Firefox 3, or indeed Opera.”

Barrett went further, echoing the thrust of VeriSign’s No More Abandoned Carts campaign, that the green bar instills confidence in users, claiming that IE7 users are noticeably less likely to abandon the login process. Confidence isn’t the same thing as security, but it’s not nothing. VeriSign says that similar effects have been observed by Overstock.com, DebtHelp.com, and now Scribendi.

So guys if your using iMac maybe try to install Firefox instead. Better safe than sorry.

kuku_alarm_clock.jpg
At your pre-designated time, this annoying little thing starts making an odd crowing noise while laying five tiny eggs into a basket next to it. It’s not going to stop making that racket until you put the five eggs back into its little receptacle on top. If one of those little eggs falls off the table and rolls under the bed, never to be seen again, well, we wouldn’t blame you for smashing this oddly-colored little clock into tiny little pieces.

2.The Sonic Bomb Clock

powered by Wordpress Multibox Plugin v1.3.5

sonic_boom_clock.jpg
Has an adjustable volume alarm with a maximum loudness of 113 decibels (just for reference, a jackhammer is about 100 decibels!) And the bed shaker does just that. Slip it under your mattress and your ears will bleed and your bed will shake, and there is no way you will oversleep. Or, you could turn the sound alarm off and tape the bed shaker to your office chair. You’ll be vibrated awake without disturbing the drones. Then you can get back to your Ninja activity refreshed and ready for action.

3. The Flying Alarm Clock

flying_alarm_clock.jpg
Wakes you up with a loud shrieking alarm coupled with a little propeller-driven key that leaps off your nightstand. To turn off the horrible racket, you have to get out of bed and retrieve the key. The propeller flies the key high into the air and off into some dusty corner. You have to force your sleep addled brain into wakefulness, move your stiff legs and retrieve the key before the alarm goes off. By the time you’ve done so, you’re awake enough at least to go make a pot of coffee.

4. Screaming Meanie

powered by Wordpress Multibox Plugin v1.3.5

screaming_meanie.jpg
Designed for truckers, the 120 decibel Screaming Meanie is basically a foghorn for your head. You set how many hours and minutes you want to sleep, not the time you want to wake up. A 110 decibel version is also available, which takes you from feeling like you are three miles away from the space Shuttle launching pad to having a chainsaw at the foot of your bed.

5. Clocky

This little wonderful wheeled alarm clock started as an engineering student’s project. Having trouble waking up herself, Gauri Nanda developed Clocky to shriek annoyingly and effectively, waking you up. The fun doesn’t end there, kiddies. It leaps off of your night stand, and drives around your room, making random turns and racing away from your grasp. Now you have to get out of bed and hunt the little bugger down to turn it off.

How to Overclocked an AMD Videocard

powered by Wordpress Multibox Plugin v1.3.5

riva1 How to Overclocked an AMD Videocard To get started with your overclocking adventures, download RivaTuner from www.guru3d.com, click yes to install and accept the program configuration default. RivaTuner will create registry database which might take a few minute. Read the readme file while you wait, especially the FAQ.

Now you’re ready to begin, Let’s juice it up!

1. Set Fan Speed.
In Rivatuner, click the Cuustomize button in the target adapter box and then click the videocard icon to open a dialog box labelled “Low-level system tweaks.” Click the Fan tab and then place a check mark next to “Enable low-level fan control.” We want to see how far we can push the GPU, so we need to keep it as cool as possible. To do that, click fixed. Now push the slidebar all the way to the right (to 100%) and click apply. If the noise bother you, set the fan speed to a lower value (but realize that won’t be able to push your card as far when using a lower fan speeed). Apply fan settings at Windows startup, “place a check mark next to the box labeled “Restore fan setting after suspended mode, ” and click OK.

2. Adjust Core Clock Speed
Again, click the Customize button in the Target Adapter Box and then click the Videocard icon. Click the Overclocking tab and then place a check mark in the box labeled “Enabled low-level hardware overclocking. Take the software’s advice and reboot so that it can detect the default memory and core clock speed. Relaunch RivaTuner after the system restarts.
Click the customize button again and then the videocard icon to open the “low level system tweaks” dialog box. Place a check mark in the box labeled “Enabled low-level hardware overclocking. “Now use the core clock slider to begin probing the limits of your GPU’s core. If the core is stock-clocked, start with gross adjustments-say, 25MHz at a time (Note: The arrow keys enable more precision than the mouse).
Used a smaller increment if the card is already overclocked or if your system becomes unstable immediately. The idea is to find the system’s outer limit, once you’ve achieved that, place a check mark in the box labeled “Apply overclocking at windows startup, ” click Save, and then click OK.

3. Adjust Memory Clock Speed
This step is identical to Step 2, except you’ll now be adjusting the memory clock slider. You’ll also want to bump your clock in smaller increment this time-say, 5MHz to 10MHz at a time. A warning icon in the form of a yellow triangle with an exclamation point will appear if RivaTuner thinks you’re getting too aggressive, but this isn’t necessarily a sign that you’re going too far; you wont know that until you stress-test the system.
If the system seems stable, place a check mark next to “Apply overclocking at Windows startup, “click Save, and then click OK. Repeat your stress test for at least one hour. If you run into stability problems after adjusting the core or memory clock speeds, reopen the system tweaks dialog box, click the Overclocking tab, and then click default button to rest the card to its original values.
